Plan b helps in preventing pregnancy after an unprotected sex
Plan b helps in preventing pregnancy after an unprotected sex. Plan b is prescribed when other forms of birth control fail.
Always follow your doctor’s direction while taking plan b. You have to take care not to take larger amounts of the drug and also not to take the drug for longer duration. The first Plan b dose should be used within 72 hours of sex. The second dosage should be taken after 12 hours. While taking the drug, keep in mind to maintain the timing between the two doses. If the timings are not maintained, plan b will not have any impact.
Before plan b is taken, inform your physician about all your health conditions, especially if you are allergic to any drugs or food. The drug should not be taken for regular birth control. Breast-feeding women should avoid Plan b as the drug is traced in breast milk, which can cause harm to the new born. The drug should also be not prescribed for any one who is younger than 17 years.
Plan b can cause certain allergic reactions like hives, swelling (face, lips, tongue, throat) and breathing difficulty. Dizziness, tired feeling, nausea, stomach pain, breast pain, headache, diarrhoea and changes in menstrual periods are some of the lesser-known side effects that come with Plan b drug.
